The poem depicts a typical classroom situation, which leaves a big message to the readers. The lesson boosts up students confidence, creativity and classroom interaction.

An innovative lesson plan was prepared on the chapter ‘Newton’s Law’ from the unit V (Enlightening Minds). I presented the innovative model at the concluding part so that students had sufficient knowledge repository inside. Innovative model was prepared to recall and stress upon the theme of the poem in such a way that it remains intact in their memory. The model at one sight seems to be senseless ,but deep thinking gives it infinite meanings.

METHODOLOGY

One of the biggest challenges that teachers face is to find ways to succeed with different types of learners, not just those with whom they have natural affinity. As teachers, we have to use different kind of teaching methodologies and strategies that promote the maximum degree of success for students of all types. There are different kinds of learners such as visual, auditory, reading/ writing and kinesthetic, Tactile and global. Each learning type responds best to a different method of teaching.

Visual learners learn best by looking. They respond well to colourful pictures and images

Auditory learners learn best by listening. They work well with spoken instructions and learn quickly by listening to stories and songs.

Tactile learners learn physically by touching and manipulating objects.

  Kinesthetic learners learn physically moving

Analytic learners focus on the details of language global learners focus on the whole picture and do not care so much about specific details.

INNOVATIVE MODEL (Newton’s Law)

So in this innovative work, all the learners have enough scope. It is designed and prepared to cater the needs of all the learners. They can come up with their own interpretations and views. Positive reinforcement was given to all the students. Students seemed to be anxious and exuberant through out the class. At last the model was demonstrated in an interesting way using simple language. It helps them to have better retention.

Steps of the innovative lesson plan ( lesson plan 04)

  • Informal Interaction

FINDINGS

Being innovative is about looking beyond what we do currently. It is identifying the great idea of tomorrow and putting them in to practice. It is a way of finding out the different possibility and widening the horizon of current knowledge. Using this innovative lesson plan, it is very clear that the learners are very attentive and are very cooperative to the situation in the classroom environment. Student responded very well to all the discoursed that were conducted in the class.

CONCLUSION

Innovative lesson plan was really a great success. It had accomplished all levels of learning outcome. Being innovative is about looking beyond what we do currently. The important element of this lesson was to concretize an abstract and vague idea as well as to improve their creative thinking.

Conscientization Program

Conscientization Program at St John’s

Topic:  Every Smile matters

Life today is not quite a bed of roses although it may seem so given the gifts of technology. The tough and tiring personal and professional lives have rendered the humans helpless and there is hardly any moment of relief left to enjoy. Stuck in the tug of war of life, students are forgetting to smile and laugh and that is taking a huge toll on not only the mental health of the students but also on the physical health.
With all these in mind we conducted an awareness program for 9th class students on the significance and need of a positive thought and smile in life.
